Appearance: Orochimaru is a disturbing creature.

His appearance is mostly that of any other normal human in anatomical terms, yet there are strange abnormalities - his pupils, slit, irises, gold, like that of a serpent. His skin is unnaturally pale and cold, contrasting sharply against his long, straight black hair. His mouth is wide and lips thin; he very much resembles the snakes in his arsenal.

Personality: First and foremost, this shinobi is a power-hungry creature who strives to possess knowledge and power. To have what most would consider "satisfactory" in these categories is simply sub par; he wants everything. Complete and total mastery of all jutsu - nothing less will do, and he will go to whatever lengths necessary to achieve it - be it in the realm of the forbidden or not. He's cunning, intelligent, and strategic, manipulative and underhanded, and not above using anyone and everyone in his path to see his needs met. He's confident in his abilities and standing; to him, everyone else is just a pawn in the game to obtain omniscience.

Abilities/Strengths: With his lofty goal to pursue mastery of all jutsu, Orochimaru's arsenal is extensive and impressive. He has the usage of several forbidden arts at his disposal, many of which were used in forming that which ensures his goal's fruition - the Immortality jutsu. Using this ability, he can overtake a new 'vessel,' so to speak, therein possessing their body and assimilating their spirit with his while remaining the dominant persona. Many of the other abilities Orochimaru has mastered have to do with or directly relate to snakes, including the ability to elongate his limbs or transform them into snakes, utilize snake venoms, or even to 'shed his skin,' so to speak, and create an entirely new form of himself, abandoning any flaws the previous body had held, including injuries or illnesses. Outside of this, Orochimaru's experimentation and research lead him to the discovery of a jutsu which requires the sacrifice of a human life in order to bring back the dead. They will retain their personas and memories, and are able to regenerate any bodily injury done to them - the only way to kill them permanently is to remove the sacrificed soul.

He’s incredibly skilled with a sword, and keeps the legendary blade of Kusanagi at ‘hand’ at all times, so to speak; it is retained within the mouth of a snake, whose form exists inside of his body.

Weaknesses: Orochimaru’s most glaring weakness is his reliance upon finding new, suitable vessels to overtake every three years. Depending on the subject in question, he may be able to stay within and adequately use a body for up to the full three years - but weaker or lesser subjects can and often do begin rejecting him much sooner than that, and can begin the rejection process more quickly if Orochimaru strongly or frequently overexerts himself. Near the end of this cycle, he is rendered practically useless; the symptoms are similar to a degenerative illness, causing him immense pain and restricting his abilities to the utmost degree.

Other than this is his confidence, his greed, and his pride - he wants what he wants, when he wants it, and will go to whatever means necessary to obtain it, absolutely certain in his ability to do so. Such unwavering confidence, especially in the face of a situation whose totality he does not grasp due to ignorance, can be particularly dangerous to him.
